Concept of the “Contemporary Czech House“ tries to propose solution / form of building outside of the city. It needs to be adequate to the daily housing, as well as not to disturb the surroundings. It does not want to destroy the landscape, nor to irritate the bystanders and neighbours. The intention is to create a friendly and humble atmosphere outside and inside being aware of it’s function and proportion.

The place of our project is located the 9th district of Budapest, in Outer Ferencváros. Outer Ferencváros is the industrial zone of the district and is divided into 3 parts: Soroksári Street, Gubacsi Street and the territory alongside Outer Mester Street.

A contemporary Polish house inspired by the regional architecture of Podhale, develops a traditional Zakopane-style housing type by changes in social structure and construction technologies.

In Poland almost all recently built houses do not have much in common with their historical antecessors built here in the past. In our proposal we wanted to tie all possible past and contemporary elements to create a house which would have its roots deep in the history.

I do not consider formal attributes or small regional differences to be important characteristics of slovak family house. More important for me is its position in formation of social relations of family and neighbourhood.
