Villa Rivola is placed at the end of the suburb of Nebušice with a view of the open landscape, creating a necessary detachment from the chaos of the built surroundings. Its essential mass is a two-storey white rectangle covered with smooth stucco, containing the residentialareas. This mass is then intersected at a cross with a lower volume with bands of titanium-zinc plating and glass. The house is open, truly ‘familial’ in its embrace of the half-enclosed garden court, full of greenery. The villa offers an alternative of an unassuming, contemporary and civilised residence.
