Young Architects
A key long-term objective of the "Contemporary House" competition is to support cooperation and communication between young architects of the V4 countries. The concept reflects the contemporary problem of housing style, and aims to find architectural solutions reflecting national characteristics of historical and modern residential architecture. Furthermore, it endeavours to offer a vision of the future family housing style of the 21st century.

Bringing to an end the first year of the international competition ‘The Contemporary House in the Eyes of Young Architects’ is the present exhibition of the work of the prize-winners. The awarded projects for single-family houses by young creators from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia will be exhibited in the Centre for Individual Residential Architecture in Prague’s Trmal Villa from July 2 to 15, 2012.

The project consisted of national competitions that took take place during 2012 in all countries of Visegra group. This part was implemented in close cooperation with universities, the national Jury selected the prize-winning design of each country and the winners (associated by the authors of a project developed in Slovenia) participated the international architecture workshop which took place from May 14th to 18th, 2012 in Debrecen.
In total, there were 98 competing projects from the V4 countries and one from Slovenia. The authors of the awarded projects are going to take part at the international conference and exhibition on residential architecture that will be held in Brussels in April 2013.

International Workshop in Debrecen

The event takes place on Monday, May 14th at 3 pm. at the University of Debrecen.
